How to brew: French press
Full immersion: the coffee sits in all the water for four minutes. The result is a full body and lots of sweetness for very little effort.
Quick answer
Use 23 g of coffee for 350 ml of water (1:15 ratio), coarse grind, water at 93–96 °C. Total time: 4 minutes.

Step by step
- Rinse the press with hot water and throw it away.
- Add the coffee, coarsely ground (like rock salt). A fine grind slips through the mesh and makes the cup muddy.
- Pour all the water at 93–96 °C, making sure every ground is wet. Put the lid on without pressing.
- At 4 minutes, break the crust with a spoon and skim off the foam and floating grounds.
- Press slowly to the bottom and pour it all at once: coffee left on the grounds keeps extracting and turns bitter.
